This is an introductory course for the progressive development of listening comprehension and speaking. Also reading, writing, and cultural appreciation of the Spanish language is introduced. The primary objective of this course is to offer students the opportunity to acquire communication skills in "Survival Spanish". You will study basic sentence structures, learn everyday vocabulary and develop the ability to clearly communicate basic ideas in Spanish.

Notes: 8-week program mainly focused on developing conversational skills, once a week, on a weekday, in Washington DC (metro accessible).

The objective of this course is to bring students from the basic level of oral and listening proficiency to the intermediate level where they will be able to participate in progressively more challenging conversations, express feelings and opinions using accurate constructions, and be able to talk about past, present and future events in the appropriate tenses and linguistic structures.

Students will also be introduced to a variety of informative, descriptive and narrative texts to work on improving their reading comprehension skills and help them infer some lexical and grammatical aspects.

Finally, students will also be exposed to a variety of listening material on personal experiences, facts and events of everyday life, including telephone conversations, mass media excerpts and narratives to help them practice their listening comprehension skills.

Although most of the class time will be allotted to working on listening and conversational skills, grammar and writing will also be addressed during the course.

Notes: Under the guidance of our ESL experienced instructors, you’ll participate in activities especially designed to help you develop and improve your English conversational skills. You will increase your vocabulary and perfect your language skills as you discuss current national, international and cultural events, watch movies, and practice advanced role-plays that will teach you how to express yourself correctly and confidently.
